Matt Gone • Artists
The expression of art through tattoos is an opportunity for many artists to contribute, using designs I have created. I have been tattooed by artists from all over the world. From their artwork I am reminded of my travels and friendships - both current and past. I would like to acknowlegde their contribution to my bodysuit on this page.

| Sailor Moses [RIP] |
|
| Biloxi, MS |
|
Sailor redid the back tattoo, outlined the lower back and buttocks plaid, did the huge Phoenix tails on my legs, as well as most of the leg checkers. He took a half-assed attempt at a bodysuit and transformed it into what it is today.
Between 1995-1997 Sailor and I spent nine sessions together. I would work the night shift until 4AM and get to the Greyhound station around 6:30. I rode the bus from 7:30 until 10:30, had something to eat, then spent the next 8 hours getting tattooed. Moses would then drop me off just minutes before the return bus left the station.
The Phoenix tails are a memorial to my dead grandparents. I handed Moses the uncashed estate check as payment. We once did five sessions in two months. I was never stronger.
Moses has passed on. Sailor Cam Cook finished some of his work, and Richard Stell did a Phoenix on my neck in his memory 5 days after he died. |

When Moses retired due to a terminal illness, Cam took completed most of his work, with Moses' blessings. Moses helped Cam apprentice 17 years before at Goldfield's Tattoo in San Francisco.
Cam did ten sessions in 8 weeks for $3,000 in the summer of 1997. He completed Moses' work on my back and buttocks, including the asscrack. He also did minor work on the left wrist and did the anchor/noose on the left anchor. Although the work was finished before Moses died, he never had the opportunity to see it. Shit! |

Dennis did the original artwork on my chest and back (since redone), buttocks spirals, and torso graphics. He also did the Mammoth on my left side. He did at least 50 sessions on the bodysuit over a four year period for roughly $10,000.
The colors available today for tattooing are much more vibrant than those Dennis had, so about 70% of his work has been touched up by other artists (for about $12,000!). |

| English Craig Jones |

Freaky Tiki Tattoo
Craig is my guardian in New Orleans. He got me my job and believed in my project from the start. I couldn't have done the last 9 years without his friendship.
He did the crowd scene on both my legs, all the outline people in red and The Scream on my left inner thigh. He also did the blue outline man with the devil inside him on my right inner thight, and the hopscotch game on my right inner crotch.
He did a piece of shit shaped like England on my left forearm, too. I have 12 pieces of shit from various artists there, including "A jury of my 'pee-ers.'" He also tattooed a hot dog chasing a donut on my inner left knee.
Craig is one of those people whose verdict on me I appreciate. |
